The Integrated VHP Process:
Integrated VHP units decontaminate enclosures and large spaces through automation, minimizing disruption to production areas and making frequent decontamination possible.
VHP utilizes a dry-process technology that leaves surfaces residue-free, providing a broad range of material compatibility.
The VHP process includes four phases:
- Dehumidification – Humidity is removed to ensure a true, dry biodecontamination process.
- Conditioning – STERIS’s Vaprox® Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilant is injected and converted into a dry vapor that quickly raises the level of hydrogen peroxide to an effective concentration.
- Biodecontamination – The VHP concentration is maintained at the target concentration level to provide an effective kill of microorganisms in the space.
- Aeration – The generator completes the injection and accelerates the breakdown of vapor into base elements of water vapor and oxygen until the hydrogen peroxide reaches an acceptable level.
